Course Information and Enrolment

First-year Course Selection

If you are a new Kinesiology student and are registering for courses for the first time, see first-year course enrollment instructions.

Enrolling in Courses via Quest

Students pre-enrol and enrol in classes using the web-based Quest system. This system allows students to add or drop courses from any internet connection, either on campus or at home.

Pre-Enrolment

During the pre-enrolment time period, students submit their course requests for a future term from the official list of available courses for that term. Pre-requisites are checked when students are submitting this list, and students may priority rank their course request selections. The course schedule is built after the pre-enrolment period has ended using the student course request information. See more information about the pre-enrolment process.

Enrolment Appointments and Open Enrolment

During the enrolment appointments and the open enrolment period following enrolment appointments students have an opportunity to add/swap/drop courses for their next academic term. Students find out immediately whether course changes have been approved, and can print a new Study List (schedule) right away.

Checking Pre-Requisites

Use the Undergraduate Calendar to determine the required or recommended courses to take and determine whether there are pre-requisites or whether instructor/department consent is necessary. If a course requires department consent or if you do not have one or more prerequisites, you must contact the course instructor or Undergraduate Administrative Co-ordinator from the department offering the course to seek advice.

Planning Your Course Schedule

Look on the Schedule of Classes for the times and locations of all courses offered, the class number for enrolment, and the availability of the course including enrolment limits and reserved spaces. This site also lists class notes that provide instructions that must be followed for successful enrolment. An accurate schedule of term courses is usually available April/May for fall term, September/October for winter term, and December/January for spring term.

Course Add/Swap/Drop

Students are able to add new classes during the first two weeks of term, and have the first three weeks of term to drop classes without any penalties.

NOTE:  Students in Honours plans in AHS are 'normally' required to be registered for five courses per term. Quest will not allow students to drop below 2.0 units (or 4 half-credit courses) once they have enrolled in this many or more. Students wishing to drop below 2.0 units in any term need special permission from the an Undergraduate Advisor. Please use the "Swap Courses" action to make course changes.

Enrolling in Courses at Wilfrid Laurier University

Several Business courses from WLU are listed in the UW Schedule of Classes and students may enroll in the course themselves via Quest. If a course is not listed in the Schedule of Classes or if the course is restricted to a certain group of students, then the student may request enrollment in the course by emailing the UW Special Advisors for WLU BUS courses. Further information about this process is available at the Registrar's Office website: UW special advisors and procedures for WLU BUS courses.

Students wishing to enroll in other (non-Business) courses at WLU should follow the instructions for completing a Cross-Registration Form.

Enrolling in Courses at Another University

Students wishing to take one or more courses from another university towards their UW degree requirements should follow the instructions on the Letter of Permission form .
