Options and SpecializationsSimilar to a minor, an option or specialization provides a secondary area of study in addition to your major. It usually consists of 6-8 courses and will be recognized on your degree. The following Options and Specializations are available for students in Health Studies: |
If you are interested in pursuing a minor or option in a different area of study, e.g., psychology, you should consult the faculty sections of the Undergraduate Calendar to see if such a specialization is offered and which courses you'd need to take as your electives to complete the requirements.
You can also customize your degree by using your electives to complete an Interdisciplinary Program. An Interdisciplinary Program, such as social development studies or women's studies, combines courses from several departments at Waterloo to provide you with different perspectives on an area of study.
