THE DOCTOR'S FATHER
An Extraordinary Man: Simon Schaman >>
Breslau, November, 8, 2002
John P. Schaman M.D. and the Cardiac Fitness Association are holding a grand opening celebration at the Ontario Aerobics Centre, November 8, 2002 at 1:00pm.

1. Dr. J. P. Schaman has been practicing cardiac rehabilitation and sport medicine at his Breslau clinic, the Ontario Aerobics Centre since 1978. Since that time, more than 34,000 patients have undergone assessments and treatments.

2. He offers a formal cardiac rehabilitation program focusing on exercise, education, diet modification and other components necessary to help cardiac patients recover and live a full and active life.

3. In 1980 the cardiac patients formed the Cardiac Fitness Association, a charitable organization dedicated to the provision of cardiac rehabilitation services so that all who need it are able to afford it.

4. Sports medicine patients have ranged from professional athletes to weekend warriors and from Olympic medalists to young hopefuls.

5. Over the years the clinic has expanded its facilities, equipment and technology in order to provide the best possible rehabilitation program and sports medicine therapies, second to none in the world.

6. A digital telemetry system was added in 2000 allowing digital wireless transmission of cardiac signals both in the clinic and outdoors on the 200 meter cardiac track in all climatic conditions – this is the first of its kind in the world.

7. In April 2002, EMS Radial Shock Wave Therapy was acquired. This is probably the most exciting sports medicine therapy of our time.

8. This year, 2002, a much needed expansion was added, the facility includes a state of the art seminar room, a conference room, office and examination space, expanded file storage and library facilities and a major upgrade to handicap access.

9. Our grand opening will include a ribbon cutting ceremony with Elizabeth Witmer M.P.P. and be attended by various other local and regional dignitaries and patients.
