2002 Youth Smoking Survey Technical Report

In efforts to reduce the prevalence of smoking among Canadian youth, Health Canada implemented a national survey for titled the Youth Smoking Survey (YSS) to discover the implications of youth smoking.

The purpose of the 2002 YSS Technical Report is to provide analysis and communication of the findings from the 2002 Youth Smoking Survey as requested by Health Canada. This comprehensive analysis will provide an update to the knowledge base of smoking behaviours, attitudes beliefs and influences among Canadian youth in grades 5-9. It is anticipated that this report will convey smoking prevalence among adolescents as well as provide the information to guide smoking prevention stategies, tobacco policies and education and enhance understanding of influences on Candadian youth.

The information will be partitioned and presented within 13 chapters. For further details of the report's objectives and strategies for analysis and presentation please refer to the links below.
