Our energetic team of faculty, staff, undergraduate, and graduate students strives to collaborate, mentor, and learn from each other as we conduct and share research that makes a difference.

Areas of Focus:

Innovation – We push to learn new ideas, models, tools, and methods that we use to strengthen our team and research program. We find partners and collaborations that spark new possibilities. We create opportunities for team members to pursue novel projects.

Improvement – We improve our team’s effectiveness and productivity by focusing on individual and team strengths; setting goals; giving feedback; and using templates/guidelines/frameworks to guide processes, communications, and project management.

Knowledge translation and exchange – We contribute to innovative KTE strategies by listening to stakeholders, staying focused on older people and others who may benefit from our research, developing strong relationships with collaborators, and participating in conferences/meetings/workshops.

Team building – We attract, recruit, engage, and support people who are motivated to participate in an interactive mentoring environment. We celebrate individual and team success. We actively invest in the development of career paths and a cohesive team.

Quality research – We strategically apply for grants and write a coherent story based on evidence, manage an active research program, and share findings in peer-reviewed journals and conferences. Our research program is strengthened by collaborations with experts and helps promote the careers of our team members.
