Laboratory Resources

We have assembled equipment and facilities to support both laboratory and workplace studies. Infrastructure support is supplied by the University but a considerable amount has come from previous research grants and contracts.

The Ergonomics and Occupational Biomechanics Laboratory has dedicated space of 1000+ sq ft. Approximately one third is used for research assistant, cooperative education and graduate student workspace. We have five workspaces with modern high-quality furiture and chairs. The laboratory also contains a file system with extensive catalogued set of research papers (~5000) on various aspects of musculoskeletal disorders, anatomy, biomechanics and ergonomics. We also have storage for our research equipment. The remainder of the space is used for a range of temporary and semi-permanent research project set-ups.

We have a wide range of equipment for both field and laboratory research including:

We also have access to a wide range of equipment owned by the Department of Kinesiology. In addition we have access to a worksop with two full time employees for the design, construction and maintainence of research equipment.
