Professor Havitz

Introduction I served as a presenter, reviewer, session chair (Management, Marketing, and Research Methodology sessions), and invited keynote speaker (Management session) with the NRPA Leisure Research Symposium and am co-chair of that Symposia for 2000 and 2001. I am a member of the Canadian Association of Leisure Studies, a former board member with the Ontario Research Council on Leisure, and a fellow in the Academy of Leisure Sciences. With respect to community service, I served for seven years on the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity-Waterloo Region, and continuing over two decades of family tradition am involved with fundraising for that organization.

I was editor of the Journal of Applied Recreation Research from 1994 to 1998 and oversaw as co-editor (with Jennifer Mactavish) its transition to "Leisure: The Journal of the Canadian Association for Leisure Studies." I served as associate editor with the Journal of Leisure Research from 1990 to 1998.
